Golf Acceptance

After having the opportunity to watch the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay yesterday the word “Acceptance” stood out to me as a fundamental for success in golf. Say what you will about the venue it did produce a leaderboard of some of the top players in the game. Every player in the field hit quality shots and putts that ended with shocking results. Perfectly hit tee balls that end up in fairway bunkers 40 yards off line, 4 footers that hit Poa Anna patches that send the ball way off line. A player’s ability to “Accept” what was going on during his round played a huge part in their success last week.

Chambers Bay along with almost every golf tournament rewards players who can “Accept” the breaks they get. As a player, you must make a choice before you tee it up in competition on how you are going to respond when you get bad breaks. In order for you to be your best you must learn how to “Accept” the bad breaks and move on to the shot at hand. Always remember Champions are not victims!
