Breath2Relax App this is an excellent free app on your mobile phone recommended to my by Coach Dismuke at University of Houston. It provides you with step-by-step learning on how to breath correctly to calm your mind and body. These are the tools a player needs to execute under pressure.

I have provided instructions to make it very simple for you to execute!

Number 1 way to improve your performance

The easiest and most effective way to be athletic is by controlling your breathing pattern. By controlling your breathing, you are able to

  1. Release anxiety
  2. Increase awareness
  3. Be athletic

Yes, it's that simple! Sadly, most people do not pay attention to their breathing techniques, which causes them to get anxious, tighten their grip pressure and create numerous swing flaws.

With use of the FocusBand, we are able to prove to golfers that being in the "athletic" state of mind increases their odds of hitting it more solid with a more consistent golf swing.

Here is a practice you can incorporate to your daily routine to improve your performance on the golf course. You will be surprised how relaxed it makes you feel and how more enjoyable the game becomes!

BEFORE SETTING UP THE APP, DO THIS!

  • 1 JOURNAL IN YOUR NOTEBOOK

    Be descriptive with your answer

    On a scale of 1-10 1. How stressed are you right now? Be descriptive, the more you can write out the more you will get out of this exercise

OPEN THE MOBILE APP AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS

Step 2, Open app, click “set up”

Under “Cycle Settings” set “inhale length” to 5, set “exhale length” to 4. According to research studies by FocusBand, this is the optimal time of breath lengths to relax the mind and body.

Set “number of cycles” to 16

Step 3, Go back to home screen, click “show me how”, watch demonstration video

Lie down, flat on your back, with a book on your belly

Goal is to calm your mind, focus solely on breathing.

Step 4, click “breathe”

Perform 16 cycles with headphones in

Step 5, finish with journaling in your GPG notebook

On a scale of 1-10 how stressed are you after completing the exercise?
